What the program is

The PhD in Management at Estonian Business School (EBS) is a full-time, research-intensive doctoral programme comprising 240 ECTS credits over 4 years. It offers two specialisations: Management and Entrepreneurship. The programme combines advanced coursework in management theory, research methodology, academic writing, publishing, and research ethics with an independent doctoral research project leading to the defence of a dissertation.

Admission and study information

The programme is delivered in English in a hybrid, session-based format, with candidates expected to be physically present at EBS for a significant portion of their studies. Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent and submit academic transcripts, a Master’s thesis, motivation letter, CV, and research idea proposal. Accepted English proficiency evidence includes IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 79+, TOEFL iBT 85 or 4.5 for exams taken after January 21, 2026, Cambridge English CEFR B2, or Duolingo 110. Tuition for individual doctoral students is €600 per month (€7,200 per year), while the application fee is €120 one-time.
