The Government and Politics PhD at Tallinn University is a doctoral programme for researchers, academics, and specialists focusing on politics, governance, public policy, and welfare state developments in a rapidly changing, multi-level world. Admission and study information

The programme lasts 4 years (8 semesters) and is offered in English and Estonian. Applicants are expected to hold a Master’s degree in political science, public policy, social sciences, or a related field, together with a clear research interest and doctoral dissertation idea. Applicants must submit a 5–10 page doctoral research proposal approved and signed by a prospective supervisor and may be invited to an admission interview. The programme is free and offers 3 Junior Research Fellow and 1 Doctoral Student places. One Junior Research Fellow position is linked to the research project “Educational Choices, Inequality and Policy Feedback across the Life Course.”
