What the Program Is

The Applied Informatics program at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT) is a full-time Bachelor of Science degree combining computer science with natural sciences, engineering, and life sciences. The program focuses on developing software and applying computer science and mathematics to analyze, simulate, optimize, and automate technical and biochemical processes. Students can choose a life-science specialization such as molecular biology, brewing technology, sustainable engineering, bioprocess engineering, or food technology.

Study Structure and Requirements

The program lasts 7 semesters and includes a practical semester in the 5th semester. It begins in the Winter Semester and is taught in English. International students require English proficiency at least at B2 level and must provide proof of German language skills at least at A2 level before completing their studies. No prior work placement is required. Admission is without admission restriction. Tuition fees are €97 per semester.
