Applied Physics

The Applied Physics program at Mainz University is a graduate Master of Science degree in the field of Physics, offered over 4 semesters in Mainz. The program is primarily taught in English, with German listed as an additional language of instruction. Students can begin their studies in either the Summer or Winter Semester, and admission is without admission restriction.

Admission requires a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics with a grade of at least 3.0, or an equivalent degree from a German or international university. For applicants whose foreign degree converts to a German grade below 3.0, additional proof that they ranked among the top 20% of their final year in natural sciences subjects is required. Application deadlines are provided for both Winter Semester 2026/2027 and Summer Semester.
