Overview and Admission

The Bachelor of Arts in English / American Language and Literature at Ruhr University Bochum is a 6-semester undergraduate programme offered in both the Summer and Winter Semesters, with admission mainly for studies beginning in the Winter Semester. The programme covers English Studies, American Studies, and English (Teaching Degree). It consists of the equally weighted study of two subjects plus an optional area and has local admission restrictions. The main language of instruction is English, with German as a further language.
