The Bachelor of Arts in English Studies (British Studies) at the University of Regensburg is a 6-semester undergraduate programme offered full time in both the Summer and Winter Semesters. The programme covers English Studies, American Studies, and Linguistics, with a focus on literatures and cultures of British colonialism, contemporary British fiction, science and literature studies, gender studies, Welsh Studies, children’s and young adult literature, South African literature, law and literature, and early modern studies. English Studies forms part of a combined Bachelor’s degree in which two or three subjects are studied. Admission is without restriction.
Students are strongly recommended to have English language skills at B2 level for all language skills and C1 level for receptive language skills according to the CEFR. Student advice before starting the degree is also strongly recommended. The programme is taught mainly in English, with German as a further language.
