Overview and Admission

The Bachelor of Education in English/American Language and Literature at the University of Erfurt is an 8-semester undergraduate programme offered full time with a dual system and practical semester. The programme covers English Studies, American Studies, and English (Teaching Degree). Admission is without restriction and the programme is offered in the Winter Semester only.

Admission Requirements

Admission requires a study contract with one of the five Thuringian school authorities. Applicants first apply for vocational training at a Thuringian school through the Thuringian School Service career portal from 01.03.2026 to 31.03.2026. After selection, a study contract must be concluded with a Thuringian school authority, followed by enrolment at the University of Erfurt in August 2026. The main language of instruction is English.
