The Food Science Master’s programme at Lithuanian University of Health Sciences prepares qualified professionals to apply food research in food production and develop innovative products that meet consumer needs and healthy nutrition requirements. Students gain interdisciplinary knowledge in food biotechnology, nutrition, food quality, product development, production management, and applied research, while also developing skills in human resource and small business management.
The two-year programme covers food biotechnology, food processing and toxic compounds, quality management, nutrition and health, applied statistics, functional food, new food product development, production planning, food ethics, dietetic nutrition, food additives, and organizational psychology. Students also complete industrial practice and a Master’s thesis.
Graduates can establish businesses in catering or food production, work in biotechnology companies, food factories, food safety control, and agri-food consulting. Potential roles include food technologist, production manager, quality manager, product development supervisor, project manager, production supervisor, and food quality inspector.
