The Food Science and Nutrition Master’s programme at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) prepares students to develop innovative, safe, healthy, and sustainable food technologies based on bioeconomy and healthy nutrition principles. Students gain advanced knowledge in food chemistry, microbiology, food technology, safety, and nutrition, supported by hands-on training in modern food technology and research laboratories.
Students develop practical expertise using pilot-scale technological lines and advanced laboratory equipment for bioactive compound isolation, chromatography, mass spectrometry, microbiology, food digestibility, rheology, and structural studies. The programme is accredited with the ASIIN Seal and EQAS Food Quality Label. Graduates can pursue careers in food production, quality and safety management, food innovation, food business development, and consultancy, or continue to PhD studies.
Applicants need a Bachelor’s degree in engineering sciences, technologies, physical sciences, life sciences, health sciences, veterinary sciences, or agricultural sciences, including at least 18 credits in food technologies or nutrition. English proficiency requires IELTS ≥ 6.0, TOEFL ≥ 85, CEFR ≥ C1, or previously completed studies in English.
