The MA TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at LCC International University is an online master’s program designed for education professionals seeking advanced preparation in English language teaching. The program also prepares graduates for careers in curriculum development, language program administration, and assessment.
The program covers second language acquisition, teaching English as an international language, linguistics, second language pedagogy, curriculum design, language assessment, research methods, ethnography, language program administration, and thesis research. Students can complete a teaching practicum at a suitable school or language program, including LCC’s Summer Language Institute in Lithuania. The program is delivered online throughout the year and includes an annual two-week Summer Residency Session in Lithuania. The full-time study duration is 2 years, with tuition of €3,000 for both EU and non-EU citizens.
Applicants are required to demonstrate English proficiency through either TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 100 or IELTS Academic with a minimum score of 7.0. An English certificate is not required for LCC alumni, citizens of Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, Canada, the U.S., or New Zealand, or applicants who attended a university for at least two years in any of those countries.
