The English Studies (Literature, Linguistics, Culture) Master’s programme at Vilnius University provides specialist education in English literature, culture studies, and linguistics. It is an interdisciplinary programme that examines the theoretical and empirical role of English language, culture, and literature in modern society.
The programme consists of three equally balanced areas: Linguistics, Literature, and Culture. It develops subject-specific knowledge alongside broader competencies, with an emphasis on individualised learning, social skills, and modern teaching and learning methods. Graduates can pursue careers in academic research and teaching, editing, translation, lexicography, proofreading, publishing, literary archives and museums, media, and public institutions and organisations. The qualification can also be applied to translation of fictional and scientific texts and publishing for general audiences.
The programme is 2 years full-time. Tuition is €5,815 for both EU and non-EU citizens. Students from the EU/EEA, Lithuanian nationals residing abroad, and people of Lithuanian origin can apply for a state-funded study place.
