The English Studies (Media Discourse) Master’s programme at Vilnius University provides specialist education in English literature, culture studies, and linguistics, with a special track in media linguistics. It combines theoretical and empirical analysis of the role of English language, culture, and literature in modern society.
The programme includes three balanced areas—linguistics, literature, and culture—alongside specialised courses in media linguistics. Students learn to apply contemporary theories and methods of media linguistics, strengthen English communication skills across public communication contexts, and create modern media products. Graduates can pursue careers in academic research and teaching, editing, translation, lexicography, proofreading, publishing, media, literary archives and museums, and public organisations. The programme also develops analytical and interpretative skills, critical thinking, broad cultural knowledge, and professional writing abilities.
The programme is 2 years full-time. Tuition is €5,815 for both EU and non-EU citizens. Students from the EU/EEA, Lithuanian nationals residing abroad, and people of Lithuanian origin can apply for a state-funded study place.
