The Environmental Engineering PhD programme at Kaunas University of Technology is designed for highly motivated doctoral students pursuing advanced research in environmental engineering. The programme consists of 30 ECTS of doctoral studies, including 3–4 study modules with the possibility of taking 1–2 modules abroad, independent research, and preparation and defence of a doctoral dissertation.
Doctoral students are expected to present their research at at least two international conferences and publish at least two scientific publications. The programme includes a Double Degree programme with the University of Bologna, Italy, opportunities for the Doctor Europaeus certificate, academic mobility and internships abroad, research within high-profile teams, and participation in the KTU International PhD Summer School. State-funded doctoral positions provide scholarships of €1,406/month in the first year and €1,628/month in years 2–4, with additional scholarships and research and mobility grants available.
Tuition is €0 per year (free/state-funded) for both EU and non-EU citizens.
