What the program is

The Master in Social Work: Specialisation Social Work in the Context of Global Crises at Vytautas Magnus University prepares highly qualified social workers to apply interventions based on social justice and human rights, with a focus on empowerment, social inclusion, social cohesion, and structural change. The specialization addresses the emotional, relational, social, and practical needs of individuals, families, communities, and society during intercultural conflicts and global crises, including trauma recovery, community rebuilding, social services, and advocacy. The specialization is delivered in English, and graduates receive a Master of Social Sciences.

Study details and admission requirements

The programme is a 2-year full-time Master’s degree. Tuition is €4,690 for EU citizens and €5,000 for non-EU citizens. Applicants need an undergraduate diploma or higher and a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in social sciences or humanities; applicants with a degree in other sciences will need additional courses. A minimum 60% CGPA is required, with admission based on the Bachelor’s diploma supplement average, Bachelor’s thesis/final examination grade, and motivation letter and interview. The minimum admission score is 5.4.
