The Master’s in Photography (Kaunas) at Vilnius Academy of Arts is a photography programme combining theoretical knowledge with practical artistic and professional skills. The programme explores contemporary photography within broader socio-cultural and technological contexts, including digital environments, networked media, innovative book production, image dissemination, interactive exhibitions, contemporary art discourse, Anthropocene critique, creative writing, publishing, curatorial practices, and critical theories of photography.

Study and Career Development

The full-time programme has a duration of 2 years, starts on 1 September, and has an application deadline of 1 July. The tuition fee is €6,985 per year for both EU and non-EU citizens. Students develop advanced critical thinking, creative presentation, applied research, artistic practice, and professional skills that can support independent artistic work, publishing, exhibition curation, and scholarly research in photography. The programme also prepares students to position their work within the international contemporary art landscape and respond to developments in the art market.
