Applied Mathematics

The Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics at the University of Groningen focuses on using mathematics to understand, model, and simulate real-world systems. Students explore applications such as self-driving vehicles, blood flow, air resistance, satellite orbits, energy networks, engineering, biology, and physics.

What You Will Study

The programme develops strong foundations in numerical mathematics or systems and control. Students learn to formulate and analyse mathematical models, combine mathematical proofs with practical tools such as simulation and programming, and study in an international classroom. The programme lasts three years and is taught in English, leading to a Bachelor of Science degree.
