Biomedical Sciences: Management is a Master of Science programme at Leiden University designed to deepen and broaden students’ understanding of human health and disease. The programme develops skills relevant to careers in biomedical research, industry, policymaking, communication, and education. It is offered by the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), which combines research, education, and patient care.
The programme is taught in English, lasts 2 years, and comprises 120 ECTS. It includes a common component of 60 EC, usually completed in the first year, covering compulsory and elective biomedical courses, a research internship, and a Career Orientation module. The second year consists of a specialization-specific 60 EC component, allowing students to further explore research or develop knowledge and training in communication, management, or education. The programme has a maximum capacity of 100 students per year, with qualitative selection used if more students are admissible.
For 2026/2027, tuition is €2,694 for EU/EEA students and €22,500 for non-EU/EEA students. English-language requirements include IELTS 6.0, TOEFL internet-based 20, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English 169, or Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English 169.
