What the program is

The Culture, Organization and Management Master’s programme at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam combines a human-centred social-science perspective with the study of management and organizations. It examines how power dynamics, emotions, and social and cultural differences influence organizational behaviour, with topics including company culture, mergers, diversity and inclusion, change management, HR policy, and globalization.

Study structure and requirements

The programme is taught in English and lasts 1 year. Students develop qualitative research skills and apply them to complex organizational dynamics, followed by a 3-month fieldwork research project and a thesis based on their research findings. Tuition for 2026/2027 is €2,694 per year for EU/EEA students. Language requirements are IELTS 6.5 overall with at least 6.0 in listening, reading, writing, and speaking, or TOEFL 580 paper-based, 237 computer-based, or 92 internet-based. The programme is accredited by NVAO.
