What the program is

Economics: Global Challenges is a Master of Science specialization at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam that examines the economic dimensions of pressing global issues. The programme addresses topics including environmental policy, global warming and climate change, poverty, access to health and education, migration, and differences between developed and developing countries. Students apply theoretical and empirical economic insights to practical issues and use modern analytical tools to investigate potential solutions and formulate policy recommendations.

Study structure and requirements

The one-year programme is taught in English and is jointly supported by teaching staff from the Department of Economics and the Department of Spatial Economics.
