The Master Societal Transitions at Erasmus University Rotterdam is a one-year, transdisciplinary programme focused on understanding and addressing complex societal transitions. It integrates perspectives from philosophy, ecology, law and practice, with particular attention to socio-economic and institutional dimensions such as power, agency, culture, beliefs, values and social movements. The programme examines transitions in areas including energy, food, care, mobility and construction.
The programme is taught in English and leads to a Master of Arts degree. It has a duration of 1 year and comprises 60 ECTS credits. For the 2027/2028 intake, the EU/EEA tuition fee is €2,694 per year. The programme starts on September 1, 2027, with an EU/EEA application deadline of August 1, 2027.
