Job Description

Saint-Étienne Métropole is recruiting a Water Network Maintenance Technician (M/F) for a full-time position within the Ondaine local area in Firminy, France. The role is part of the Drinking Water sub-unit and involves preventive and corrective maintenance of water networks and structures serving drinking water, raw water, and fire protection systems.

Responsibilities include carrying out new connections and connection renewals, installing pipes and taps, bringing existing connections into compliance, helping update network plans, and maintaining the areas around water structures. The position also includes installing, moving, and connecting fire hydrants, supporting leak detection activities including at night, assisting with meter readings and sectorization, and replacing meters.

Candidates should have knowledge of plumbing, electricity, mechanics, and hydraulics, as well as the ability to use measurement devices and hand and thermal tools. Knowledge of water treatment equipment and environmental safety standards is also required. The role involves several specified authorizations and certifications, including electrical and chlorine authorizations, CATEC, AIPR, equipment operation, working at heights, and lone-worker requirements. The position also includes Level 1 on-call duty.
