Church Singer and Church & Cultural Worker-Vrå, Denmark
Vrå Parish Council and Em Parish Council are seeking employees for two positions starting December 1, 2026, or by agreement: a church singer working 12 hours per week and a church and cultural worker working 23 hours per week. Applicants may apply for either position or both.
The church singer will support congregational singing and church services, including leading singing, the vocal part of the liturgy, and congregational singing at services and activities. The role may also include solo singing at high masses and reading opening and closing prayers.
The church and cultural worker will coordinate activities for children, young people, and adults, including baby hymn singing, church toddlers, mini-confirmation teaching, confirmation education support, choir work, and family and youth services. The position also includes PR, social media, website and Churchdesk updates, contact with schools and local organizations, volunteer coordination, and development of children and youth activities.
Both positions require collaboration with the pastor, organists, parish council, staff, and volunteers. Educational requirements and salary ranges vary according to the position and qualifications.
Requirements
- Church Singer: Relevant education and basic knowledge within church music and church studies
- Church Singer: Good liturgical sense and broad expertise in classical and rhythmic genres
- Church Singer: Ability to lead singing, vocal parts of liturgy, and congregational singing
- Church Singer: Open, welcoming, independent, and collaborative approach
- Church Singer: Interest in the mission of the Danish Church and active participation in congregational life
- Church and Cultural Worker: Pedagogical education
- Church and Cultural Worker: Experience with communication
- Church and Cultural Worker: Christian knowledge at undergraduate level or equivalent
- Church and Cultural Worker: Theological insight, church understanding, and commitment
- Church and Cultural Worker: Musical skills and willingness to play piano or another instrument
- Church and Cultural Worker: Creative, inspiring, and comfortable working with children and young people
- Church and Cultural Worker: Communication and presentation skills
- Church and Cultural Worker: Vision for using electronic media
- Church and Cultural Worker: Passion for choir work and development of the church's musical profile
- Church and Cultural Worker: Good collaboration skills and an outgoing approach
- Church and Cultural Worker: Insight into and interest in the life and growth of the church
