About the Mathematics Programme

The Master’s programme in Mathematics at Comenius University Bratislava is offered by the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics. It aims to develop specialists with advanced knowledge in mathematics and an understanding of related applied disciplines. Although designed as a continuation of the university’s Bachelor’s programme in Mathematics, it is also open to eligible students from other universities.

Curriculum and Career Opportunities

The programme focuses on three key areas: mathematical analysis, mathematical structures, and numerical mathematics. Students develop skills in solving problems using mathematical and computer science techniques, designing mathematical models, and applying mathematical theory in fields such as physics, chemistry, biology, civil engineering, electrical engineering, and economics. The programme also strengthens critical and logical thinking. Graduates may pursue careers in academic and industrial research, software companies, and the financial sector, or continue their studies through doctoral programmes at Slovak or international universities. The programme takes two years (four semesters), is taught in English, and costs €1,800 per academic year.
