Description:
Space Engineering is a full-time, second-cycle engineering study programme offered by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. Taught in English, the programme has a standard duration of two years and awards the academic degree inžinier (Ing.). It focuses on multidisciplinary engineering technologies for space systems and advanced electronic applications, combining electrical engineering, materials science, microsystems and space-related technologies.
Students develop knowledge of space-system materials and construction, sensors and actuators, energy sources, microsystem technology, radiation interactions and space research methods. The programme covers the design and optimisation of embedded electronic systems, robotics, propulsion, control, navigation and communication systems. Students also learn to apply artificial intelligence, computer-aided engineering tools, modelling and simulation to complex engineering challenges. Graduates can pursue careers in space engineering, advanced electronics, robotics, mechatronics, information technology, automotive engineering, materials technology and research and development. They are prepared to contribute to international engineering teams or lead technical projects, and may continue their studies at doctoral level. The planned student capacity is 10 for both the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 academic years.
