The Chemical Engineering study programme is a full-time, second-cycle engineering programme offered by the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. The programme focuses on Chemical Engineering and Technology, covering physical and chemical processes, chemical kinetics, mass and heat transfer, chemical and biochemical reactors, process simulation, production management, and industrial safety. The standard duration is 2 years, and the language of study is English. Graduates are awarded the academic degree inžinier (Ing.).
Students develop the ability to model, simulate, design, and optimize chemical and biochemical processes using tools such as Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, MATLAB, and Excel. The programme prepares graduates to solve technical and operational problems, assess production risks, improve energy efficiency, and evaluate environmental impacts. Career opportunities include process engineering, chemical and pharmaceutical production management, research and development, quality management, biotechnology, food processing, environmental protection, waste management, and energy optimization. Graduates may also continue to doctoral studies in Chemical Engineering and Technology, Food Processing, Biotechnology, and related fields. The planned intake is 5 students for the 2026/2027 academic year.
