The Anglophone Studies Master’s programme at the University of Giessen is a graduate programme in English Studies with a standard duration of 4 semesters and English as the main language of instruction. It provides advanced knowledge in linguistics, literary studies, and cultural studies, alongside educational knowledge, subject-specific didactic skills, and scientific methodology. Students develop the ability to independently acquire, apply, and critically evaluate linguistic, literary, cultural, and didactic theories and models, analyse complex issues, and plan, conduct, and evaluate their own scientific projects.

Admission requires a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent recognised academic qualification with a suitable subject specialisation. Applicants must also demonstrate English proficiency at CEFR level C1. The programme admits students in both the Summer and Winter Semesters.
