The Applied English Linguistics Master’s programme at Vytautas Magnus University prepares qualified English philologists with a broad understanding of English language structure, linguistics, translation, sociolinguistics, intercultural communication, and language teaching. Students learn to independently analyse and produce texts across different genres, registers, styles, and communicative contexts, while developing skills applicable to professional and scientific work.
The programme supports further academic development, including progression to doctoral studies. Graduates can work as English language specialists, consultants, translators, interpreters, editors, and public discourse developers in areas such as science, culture, education, language policy, business, and international organisations. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in English Philology or a corresponding field, with at least 30 ECTS in an English Philology study programme, a minimum 60% CGPA, and a minimum admission score of 5.4. The tuition fee is €4,690 for EU citizens and €5,000 for non-EU citizens.
