Artificial Intelligence

The Artificial Intelligence programme at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is a three-year, English-taught Bachelor of Science programme exploring both the technology behind AI and its applications in society. Students learn how artificial intelligence can be applied to real-world challenges in areas such as healthcare, banking, transport, and entertainment.

Interdisciplinary AI

The programme offers two specialised tracks: Intelligent Systems and Socially Aware Computing. Students develop knowledge of machine learning and AI technologies while also examining psychology, social impact, and the ways people interact with AI. The programme follows an interdisciplinary approach that combines information science and social science, with research focusing on Humane AI and Hybrid AI.
