The Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Information Studies at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam explores how communication works and the role language plays in communication. Students examine topics such as future journalism, language associations, and how companies use social media to influence consumer behaviour.
The programme offers two specialisations: Language and Media, which examines how organisations use new media in business-to-business and business-to-consumer communication, and Language and Mind, which connects linguistic knowledge about language learnability with practical experiences in language teaching. The programme is taught in English and takes three years to complete, comprising 180 ECTS credits.
