What the program is

The Engineering Sciences doctoral programme at the Estonian University of Life Sciences in Tartu is a full-time PhD programme designed to train researchers, teaching staff, and top specialists in engineering sciences. The programme comprises 240 ECTS credits, including basic studies, speciality studies, optional subjects, and a doctoral thesis worth 180 ECTS. Students must complete the compulsory courses and defend their doctoral thesis.

Admission and study information

The programme is taught in English and requires a Master’s degree or corresponding qualification. Applicants must provide accepted proof of English proficiency, such as Cambridge English, IELTS, TOEFL, or an equivalent qualification, as well as a motivation letter and a doctoral thesis project recognized by an EAMU supervisor. Tuition is free, while the application fee is €100 one-time.
