The Joint Master’s programme in Marine Biotechnology at Klaipeda University is a 2-year, full-time multidisciplinary programme focused on marine or “blue” biotechnology. Taught in English, the programme awards a joint Master of Science in Marine Biotechnology and is delivered within the EU-CONEXUS European University Alliance. Students receive interdisciplinary training and can specialise in one of four tracks: Innovative Bioproducts for Future, Blue Biomass, Marine Biorefinery, or Aquaculture Biotechnology.
The programme combines professional practice through internships, academic research integration, and thesis work. Students can participate in transnational research teams, study across European universities, and develop professional networks through project-based learning. The curriculum focuses on marine-derived molecules, biotechnology pipelines, innovative solutions, R&D and intellectual property, scientific communication, and multidisciplinary international teamwork. Tuition is €5,000 for EU citizens and €9,000 for non-EU citizens.
