The Bachelor of Science in Life Science and Technology at the University of Groningen is a three-year, 180 ECTS international programme taught in English. It combines biology, chemistry, physics, technology and pharmacology to explore the molecular mechanisms of life and understand how living systems function.

Programme Focus and Costs

Students explore areas including drug design, cellular imaging, bioinformatics, biomedical research, drug development and diagnostic technology, with hands-on laboratory experience from the first year. The programme addresses challenges in health, medicine and sustainability and can lead to MSc programmes such as Biomolecular Sciences or Medical Pharmaceutical Sciences. The programme is accredited by NVAO. For 2026/2027, tuition is €2,694 per year for EU/EEA students, €19,800 for non-EU/EEA students and €14,000 institutional tuition. Intakes are available on September 1, 2027 and September 1, 2028, with application deadlines of May 1 in the respective year for both EU/EEA and non-EU/EEA applicants.
