Media Studies

The Media Studies Bachelor’s programme at the University of Groningen examines the central role of media in contemporary life, including social media, print, websites, television, search engines and apps. The programme explores how media influence communication and shape societies culturally, politically and economically.

Academic and Professional Development

Students study the informative and social functions of media, media structures and systems, patterns of media use, production and content, and the political and economic foundations of media. The programme has an international, comparative and interdisciplinary approach, while developing academic research methods and professional skills relevant to media-related internships and careers.
