What the program is

Medicinal Chemistry is a Master’s programme jointly offered by Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) and the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU), with collaboration from international partners. The programme combines chemistry and chemical technology with pharmacy, biology, and health sciences to prepare specialists for the discovery, development, and production of new medicines. Students study areas including organic chemistry, spectroscopy, analytical chromatography, pharmaceutical chemistry, drug development, molecular biology, and pharmacology.

Study details and admission requirements

The programme is completed full-time in 2 years. Tuition is €5,641 for both EU and non-EU citizens. Admission requires a university Bachelor’s degree in engineering sciences, technologies, physical sciences, life sciences, health sciences, veterinary sciences, or agricultural sciences, including at least 18 completed credits in chemistry. English proficiency requires IELTS ≥ 6.0, TOEFL ≥ 85, CEFR ≥ C1, or previously completed studies in English. From the second year, students can specialise in synthetic medicinal chemistry or biomedicinal chemistry and gain practical research experience in KTU, LSMU, and Santaka Valley Science Center facilities.
