What the program is

Photonics and Nanotechnology is a Master’s programme at Vilnius University focused on semiconductor photonics and nanotechnologies. The programme provides in-depth knowledge of physics, fabrication, and characterisation techniques related to organic and inorganic solid-state light sources, solar cells, sensors, and hybrid devices. Students can participate in scientific research at the Institute of Photonics and Nanotechnology, the Department of Optoelectronics of the Centre for Physical Sciences and Technology, and other modern laboratories within the National Centre for Physical Sciences and Technology.

The programme is completed full-time in 2 years. Tuition is €5,641 for EU citizens and €6,500 for non-EU citizens. Cooperation with industrial partners provides opportunities for research work and Master’s thesis subjects. Graduates can work as researchers at universities, institutes, and companies in applied sciences, innovation, and electronic technologies, and can continue to PhD studies in Physics or Materials Engineering.
