The Restoration of Art and Interior Heritage (Vilnius) master’s programme at Vilnius Academy of Arts prepares students for professional work in the protection, conservation, restoration, and research of cultural heritage. The programme offers five specializations: painting, mural painting, sculpture, textile, and interior and architecture. Students develop knowledge of heritage protection and conservation methods and learn to apply them in practical restoration projects.
The programme develops skills in diagnosing the physical condition and causes of deterioration of heritage objects, preparing research programmes, developing conservation-restoration projects, and participating in their practical implementation. Students also learn to work collaboratively with restorers, researchers, and heritage protection specialists and become familiar with Lithuanian and international heritage protection and conservation-restoration legislation. After completing the Master’s programme, a restorer has to apply for State attestation of restorers. The programme lasts 2 years full-time, and costs €6,985 for both EU and non-EU citizens.
