The Social Innovations and Research Master’s programme at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) focuses on developing new and effective solutions to social problems while strengthening community participation, equity, and sustainable development. It is the first Master’s degree programme in Lithuania focused on creating and developing social innovation. Students explore social problem analysis, theories of change, forward-looking foresight, social innovation design, and innovative research methodologies, with opportunities to participate in ECIU micro-modules abroad.
The programme combines social innovation design and research methodology with challenge-based learning, data analysis, and social innovation labs. Students can follow a flexible learning path based on real-world challenges and apply their knowledge to practical projects. The programme is a 2-year full-time Master’s degree with tuition of €4,690 per year for both EU and non-EU citizens. The start date is September 1, with an Autumn Intake deadline of June 1, 2026. Applicants from all study fields are eligible, and English proficiency requires IELTS ≥ 6.0, TOEFL ≥ 85, CEFR ≥ C1, or previously completed studies in English. Graduates may pursue careers in NGOs and international institutions, including roles related to social policy and social projects.
