Pastry Chef – Grand Hotel

Job Description

Grand Hotel Oslo is seeking a qualified Pastry Chef for a permanent, full-time 100% position in the heart of Oslo. The successful candidate will join the hotel’s pastry team and work across several culinary concepts and events, including restaurants, Afternoon Tea, banquets, breakfast, hotel guests and larger functions.

Responsibilities include producing desserts, cakes, pastries and other pastry products, preparing mise en place and daily production according to planned volumes, plating and finishing products, and contributing to the development of new products and the pastry selection. The role also requires consistent attention to quality and presentation, compliance with food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures, stock control, waste reduction and efficient production. Close cooperation with the kitchen and F&B organisation is also expected.

Candidates should have a pastry qualification or relevant professional experience, a strong understanding of quality and craftsmanship, and the ability to work in a structured and efficient manner. The employer also seeks someone solution-oriented, responsible, team-focused and aware of food cost, raw material usage and waste reduction. Experience from hotels, restaurants, bakeries or larger pastry operations is an advantage. English and/or a Scandinavian language is required.
