Job Description
Arfima Trading is seeking a Software Engineer to help expand its Data Space and contribute to open-source solutions within a large, distributed global infrastructure. The company welcomes applicants from different fields, particularly those with scientific backgrounds, and requires an interest in financial markets. Formal education in finance is not required.
The role involves tracking data provenance, the analysis algorithms used, and the agents producing specific reports. The Software Engineer will also develop and deploy open-source solutions, work with backend and microservices technologies, manage Dockerized applications and system installations, and proactively learn new technologies while solving unstructured problems.
The desired background includes an advanced degree in Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics, programming experience in multiple languages, cloud environments, data-analysis systems, databases, IaaS APIs, and CI/CD tools.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics.
- At least 3 years of programming experience in 2 of the following languages: Python, C#/C++, or Golang.
- Knowledge of Rust.
- Knowledge of Java.
- At least 2 years of experience with cloud environments.
- Experience developing backend solutions and microservices.
- Experience programming Dockerized applications.
- Experience with Kafka.
- Knowledge of Hadoop/HDFS.
- Knowledge of Spark.
- Knowledge of Cassandra.
- At least 2 years of practical experience managing system installations.
- Experience creating and deploying Docker containers.
- Knowledge of Microservices Architecture.
- Knowledge of LDAP/DA.
- Knowledge of Postgress.
- Knowledge of MongoDB.
- Experience with AWS API.
- Experience with Azure API.
- Experience with OpenStack API.
- Demonstrable knowledge of GitLab/GitHub or equivalent CI/CD tools.
- Interest in financial markets.
- Proactive approach to learning new technologies and solving unstructured problems.
