AIPTO TechBio is seeking a Data Engineer / Scientist to build and scale a scientific data engine for multimodal clinical and biological data in Heidelberg. The role focuses on integrating multi-omics, spatial transcriptomics, digital pathology, radiological imaging, longitudinal clinical records, and single-cell drug-perturbation data into AI-ready datasets.
The position will involve designing data infrastructure, harmonising and standardising multimodal datasets for deep-learning and agentic workflows, translating biological and clinical questions into data schemas, and implementing biomedical metadata standards and GDPR-grade governance for sensitive patient data. The role will work closely with wet-lab researchers, clinical oncologists, machine-learning scientists, computer-vision scientists, and IT specialists.
This is a hybrid position and the first member of AIPTO TechBio’s Heidelberg hub. The company offers competitive compensation, hybrid working, collaboration with DKFZ and European clinical centres, and the opportunity to help shape the technology stack and architecture of the Heidelberg hub.
