Sr Software Installation Engineer
Job Description
Siemens Healthineers is hiring a Senior Software Installation Engineer to complete technical service tasks, install and configure hardware and software, and troubleshoot systems at customer sites in Romania and neighboring countries. The role involves installing Dell servers, racks, workstations, printers, backup devices, and network cabling, as well as configuring Windows servers, Active Directory, DNS, IIS, MSSQL databases, Citrix XenApp, backup software, and Juniper firewalls.
The position requires 3–5 years of experience, a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical discipline, strong Windows system administration and networking knowledge, and fluent English communication skills. The successful candidate must be comfortable with customer-facing responsibilities, international project coordination, travel of 30–40%, weekend work, unusual working hours, and delivering projects under time pressure.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a technical discipline, such as B.E., B.Tech, B.Sc. (Computer Science), MCA, or M.Sc. (Computer Science).
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and client operating systems.
- Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, IIS, and file and print servers.
- Technical knowledge of Dell servers, autoloaders, tape drives, backup systems, HP printers, and Juniper firewalls.
- Knowledge of RAID, WSUS, and cybersecurity.
- Experience with MSSQL Server and RDBMS databases.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies, including VMware, vCloud, and Citrix XenApp.
- Windows system administration and IP addressing skills.
- Customer-facing and customer-handling skills.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Willingness to travel 30–40%.
- Flexibility to work unusual hours and weekends, including across different time zones.
- Ability to learn quickly, multitask, work under time pressure, and collaborate effectively in a team.
- Healthcare IT domain knowledge is an advantage.
- DICOM/HL7 knowledge is an advantage.
- Microsoft certifications are an advantage.
- Network administration skills are an advantage.
