Job Description
Wizeline is seeking an Android Senior Software Engineer to contribute to technical architecture, development processes, and high-impact digital projects. The role involves driving technical discussions and decisions, applying effective architecture and programming standards, and collaborating with product teams to align technical and business goals.
The engineer will design and manage processes for development, testing, monitoring, and change management, while identifying technical debt and continuously improving team productivity. The position requires more than 5 years of Android native mobile development experience, hands-on Kotlin and Jetpack Compose experience, and familiarity with data structures, system design, design patterns, API design, MVP or MVVM, declarative UI, Git, and DevOps.
A full-stack background, cloud services, GraphQL, and Firebase experience are considered advantages. The role also values creativity, new ideas and technologies, and AI tooling proficiency for drafting, analysis, research, and process automation. The position is based in Barcelona in a hybrid mode, with 3 days per week at the office.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Android native mobile development experience.
- Hands-on experience with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Familiarity with data structures.
- Familiarity with system design.
- Familiarity with design patterns.
- Familiarity with API design.
- Familiarity with MVP or MVVM.
- Familiarity with declarative UI.
- Familiarity with Git.
- Familiarity with DevOps.
- Full-stack background is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud services is a plus.
- Familiarity with GraphQL is a plus.
- Familiarity with Firebase is a plus.
- Passion for news and creativity to introduce new ideas and technologies.
- Background in journalism is an advantage.
- AI tooling proficiency for drafting, analysis, research, or process automation is a nice-to-have.
