In the Visualization/CGI team, we develop high-quality visualizations, animations, and digital experiences for the vehicles of tomorrow. Our work supports both the automotive design process and the design, communication, and marketing activities surrounding new vehicle projects. We combine creative ambition with state-of-the-art CGI and real-time technologies.

As a Creative Unreal Artist / CGI Generalist, you will be responsible for the creative and technical implementation of demanding CGI projects, primarily using the Unreal Engine. You will work in an interdisciplinary environment with designers, creatives, and communication partners, guiding projects from the initial concept to the final visual.

Your tasks include:

  • Development and production of high-quality CGI images and animations for vehicle design, communication, and marketing.
  • Development and implementation of complete productions in Unreal Engine – from data preparation and scene assembly to materials, lighting and look development, rendering, compositing to the final output.
  • Creative staging of vehicles for design communication, events and vehicle premieres
  • Development of new visual concepts, imagery, and storytelling approaches for new vehicle projects
  • Creation of photorealistic real-time visualizations, films and presentations with the highest quality standards.
  • Collaboration with designers, creative directors and communication partners in the production of CGI content
  • Further development of modern CGI workflows in the areas of Unreal Engine, real-time rendering and AI

You can expect an exceptionally creative working environment in the Mercedes-Benz design department. You will work daily with designers, creatives, and visualization experts on the vehicles of tomorrow and have the opportunity to actively shape new visual languages, presentation formats, and visual experiences.

The position is to be filled as soon as possible on a full-time basis.Qualifications

Ideally, you should bring the following:

  • Successfully completed studies in the field of CGI, Animation, Visual Effects, Game Art, Digital Media, Product Design, Transportation Design or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience in CGI production of vehicles, products or high-quality brand presentations
  • Excellent knowledge of the Unreal Engine and experience with modern real-time and visualization workflows
  • Confident handling of the essential steps of the CGI pipeline – from data preparation and scene assembly through materials, look development and lighting to animation, rendering and post-production
  • Experience with other visualization tools such as Blender, Maya, VRED, Cinema 4D or similar applications is an advantage.
  • Very good German or English skills
  • A pronounced sense for design, aesthetics, image composition, light and visual storytelling
  • Passion for the creative staging of vehicles, products and brands
  • Independent, structured work style and enjoyment of working in interdisciplinary teams
  • Interest in new technologies and innovative workflows in the areas of real-time graphics, AI, XR and digital presentation

We are looking for a creative generalist with a strong focus on Unreal Engine. You understand the entire CGI production pipeline and combine technical know-how with a strong design ethos. In addition to creating high-quality visuals, you contribute your own ideas, develop visual concepts further, and enjoy working at the intersection of design, communication, and technology.
