SPIE is looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to help protect IT and OT environments within vital infrastructure in Sliedrecht, Netherlands. The role focuses on cybersecurity for technical installations used in bridges, locks, pumping stations, and other vital infrastructure objects.
The Cybersecurity Engineer works with software engineers, hardware engineers, project managers, and administrators from the initial design phase through commissioning. Responsibilities include developing and managing cybersecurity standards for IT and OT environments, translating security requirements into practical technical solutions, and carrying out risk, security, and vulnerability analyses. The role also involves securing Windows server environments and virtual infrastructures, designing and assessing industrial and communication networks, and supporting FAT, SAT, and commissioning from a cybersecurity perspective.
Candidates should have completed higher professional education in Industrial Automation, IT, Mechatronics, or a similar technical field. Knowledge of or interest in OT cybersecurity and IEC 62443 is required, while experience with PLC and SCADA systems, particularly Siemens, TIA Portal, and WinCC, is preferred. Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, network infrastructures, and cybersecurity regulations including NIS2 and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) is also required. Good spoken and written Dutch is required.
