The University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG), within the Department of Gastroenterology, Gastrointestinal Oncology and Endocrinology, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/d) for a research project focused on the metabolic regulation of T cell responses in chronic infection and the tumor microenvironment.
The position involves conducting an independent research project within a collaborative team, analyzing T cell biology using optogenetic tools, investigating ion-channel regulation in T cells, supervising students, and presenting research findings at national and international scientific meetings. The research group specializes in immunometabolism and examines how viral infections and the tumor microenvironment influence T cell responses at the metabolic level.
Applicants should hold a PhD in life sciences, such as immunology or a related subject, and have a strong background in T cell biology. Experience with CRISPR/Cas9, retro/lentiviral systems, mouse experiments, and single-cell data analysis is required. Metabolomics/metabolic profiling is an advantage. Excellent written and spoken English is required.
