Sea Kayaking Guide

Job Description

Outdoor Norway AS is looking for a Sea Kayaking Guide for a seasonal full-time position in Voss, Norway, during May, June, and July 2027. The guide will lead fjord and sea-kayaking trips for international guests, combining strong paddling skills, professional risk management, safety, and guest service to provide safe and memorable outdoor experiences.

Responsibilities include leading guided kayaking trips, delivering safety briefings and paddling instruction, monitoring weather conditions such as tides, wind, rain, and air temperature, and following the company’s operating procedures and safety standards. The role also involves cleaning and drying client paddling equipment, cleaning and fueling vehicles after tours, maintaining organized workspaces, loading and unloading kayaks, communicating with guests from different cultures, and providing information about local culture and history during tours.

Candidates must be physically fit, comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, and able to work weekends and public holidays. Required qualifications include a Whitewater Kayak qualification/Sea Kayaking certification or at least three years of previous guiding experience, current first-aid certification including CPR, a Category B driver’s licence with Taxi Driver License endorsement, excellent spoken and written English, and experience paddling sea kayaks in fjords.
