Senior Accountant

Job Description

GCS Malta is looking for a Senior Accountant to join one of Malta’s leading financial companies. This is a permanent position in Naxxar for a candidate with a Degree in Accounting or an ACCA qualification and relevant professional experience.

The role involves supporting clients with day-to-day operations, liaising with clients and third parties, coordinating with local authorities, and assisting with corporate and banking matters. The Senior Accountant will also support compliance requirements and regulatory obligations, prepare and review financial statements, accounting records and payroll reports, and maintain accurate financial data.

Additional responsibilities include preparing weekly and monthly financial reports, supporting management reporting, processing monthly payroll, assisting with monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings, and liaising with external auditors during client audit engagements. The role also includes assisting Directors with general accounting and finance-related duties.

Candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role and sound knowledge of fundamental accounting and financial reporting practices. Familiarity with Shireburn and Xero is an advantage. Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, interpersonal and communication abilities, fluency in Maltese and English, and proficient use of Microsoft applications are required.
