Job Description
MID GmbH is seeking a (Senior) Consultant in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and AI to support customer projects and product development. The role combines consulting with work in an agile team focused on using data to support complex decisions through systematic automation.
Responsibilities include monitoring developments in Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence, and assessing their relevance to customer projects and products. You will gather and prepare large datasets, analyze data using statistical and machine learning methods, and contribute to application development. You will also support project acquisition with Data Science expertise and occasionally create technical content such as white papers, blog posts, and presentations.
Applicants should have a degree in Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics, including Business Mathematics, and several years of relevant professional experience in data science within development, consulting, or research. Familiarity with machine learning, predictive analytics, deep learning, web technologies, cloud data architectures, and tools such as Git, Confluence, or Jira is expected. Python or R, data science libraries, PyTorch, and Python web frameworks are advantageous. Fluent German and the ability to communicate in English are required.

Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or Business Mathematics
- Several years of professional experience as a Data Scientist in a development, consulting, or research environment
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence, particularly machine learning, predictive analytics, and deep learning
- Familiarity with web technologies such as microservices and REST
- Familiarity with data architectures for cloud technologies
- Python or R skills preferred
- Familiarity with data science libraries such as pandas and scikit-learn preferred
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch preferred
- Familiarity with Python web frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask preferred
- Ability to work independently in an agile team, primarily organized remotely
- Familiarity with Git, Confluence, or Jira
- Confident communication and ability to discuss complex issues with stakeholders
- Fluent German skills
- Ability to communicate in English when necessary
- Quick grasp of concepts and a structured, results-oriented approach
- Creativity and social competence
- Willingness to undertake occasional business trips within Germany by prior arrangement
