Job Description

Outrigo International SL is seeking a forward-thinking Software Developer – Structural Methods to join its advanced engineering and R&D team in Santa Oliva, Tarragona. The role focuses on developing next-generation structural methods for FEM applications at the intersection of computational design, simulation, and digital manufacturing.

The developer will design, develop, and maintain software tools for structural design, implement algorithms for structural optimisation, shape generation, and lattice structures, and integrate FEA solvers, CAD/mesh tools, and manufacturing constraints into design workflows. The position also involves collaborating with structural engineers, CAE specialists, and manufacturing experts, developing user interfaces and/or scripting APIs, profiling performance, and contributing to version control and CI/CD pipelines.

Applicants should have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, along with strong software development experience using Python, C++, or similar languages. Experience with scientific computing libraries, optimisation frameworks, topology optimisation, FEA solvers, and mesh processing tools is required or relevant to the role. Experience with 3D geometry, CAD kernels, or GPU programming is desirable. All applicants must be eligible to work in Spain.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics or related field.
  • Strong experience in software development using Python, C++, or similar languages.
  • Experience with scientific computing libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and Eigen.
  • Experience with optimisation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of topology optimisation algorithms, including SIMP, level-set, and gradient-based methods.
  • Familiarity with FEA solvers such as Abaqus, Ansys, OpenFOAM, and CalculiX.
  • Familiarity with mesh processing tools.
  • Experience with 3D geometry, CAD kernels such as OpenCASCADE and Parasolid, or GPU programming — desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary R&D environment.
  • Eligibility to work in Spain.
