Software Engineering Intern – Kortrijk

Job Description

Barco Labs is looking for a Software Engineering Intern to contribute to the development of software solutions used in digital pathology and medical imaging. As part of the innovation team, the intern will work on real engineering challenges across software development, image data processing, software libraries, automation frameworks, cloud applications, and platform development.

Depending on their interests and skills, the intern will work on a suitable project alongside experienced engineers. Responsibilities may include developing software using Python, C/C++, JavaScript, or TypeScript, working on modern web applications and UI/UX concepts, creating test automation and CI/CD pipelines, and contributing to cloud, cybersecurity, AI, image processing, tooling, algorithms, and data-processing solutions.

Applicants should be Bachelor’s or Master’s students in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics-ICT, or a similar field. Experience with relevant programming technologies, Linux/Docker, Git/GitHub, collaborative software development, and LLMs in development is expected. Familiarity with software development best practices and strong analytical and problem-solving skills are also required, along with fluent spoken and written English.

The internship provides hands-on professional experience, mentorship from experienced engineers, and exposure to modern cloud, AI, and DevOps technologies and healthcare-related software products.
